Iv posted beforehand about my platy acting odd.

She got bloated about a week ago and starting just sitting in one spot with rapid gill movement. I woke up today to the pinecone scales with more bloating.

Iv read by this point it's too late, and I currently have a cup of water sitting in the freezer :(

I have 2 mollies in the tank with her - is Dropsy contagious? Should I treat the tank with any form of med's or treat the filter?

Thanks.

RIP Sunshine. :-(

i used to have a few female fighters, 1 red one in particular seemed to be, almost prone to dropsy, had it about 4/5 times in the space of the year.
got it quite badly too, lost all its colour on all occasions, pine cone scales, treated it each time with protozin i think and it went at various points during treatment. and seemed to live an active and happy life.
i would try treating it before you take drastic action.

Dropsy is only contagious if the other fish start to eat at the dead body of a dropsy infected fish, Also, add some myxazin p, protozin and tonic salt
