Pregnant !

i just got home from school to find that my paradise fish (which i thought was a male,, because it was kinda colourful) is FAT very big !... but i do not know anything what to do? i just know they make bubble nest and is it just that she is full of eggs?

please help


ps i did try and take some pics but never came out that well... so i will try again and maybe there will be some pictures on later

Might not be eggs, it might be bloating, bacterial infection, dropsy.

If she has seemingly swollen up overnight it is more likely there is something more sinister going on. For example you could be seeing the early stage of dropsy.

Hopefully it is just that he is a she. And that she is full of eggs. But it's worth ruling out dropsy (or even constipation or fatness from a large meal)

If she is full of eggs then without a male she will more than likely re-absorb them in a few days.

well normally she/he hides in the plants all the time and she/he is never this fat
i think i will leave it for a couple of days and if she gets bigger then maybe i will have to purchase some medicines.... im gunna sound like a right retard... but what exactly is dropsy?

Hmm the pictures on there aren't very clear. Just to show another picture of a fish suffering from dropsy and the pineconing effect it has on the scales.

i dont know because it is the same colour and the scales arent like that ! i shall leave it a couple of days then i shall take action :L
i think she may have some eggs.. i just dont know
