I'd say you should expect fry between the next 1-2 weeks
She needs to square off a little more and get a little fatter but I say she is early in pregnancy.

yeah definately agree she's pregnant :) i wouldn't know how long to go though.

Unless there is something wrong with her reproductive organs, if she has shared a tank with a male within the last 6 months, then she is pregnant. And looking at the photo, I would say she is pregnant.

Platies, in common with other common livebearers, have the ability to store sperm for a period of about 6 months, and use it to continue producing fry every 4-6 weeks during that time.

The platy does indeed look like she is carrying fry. My own guess, based on her shape, is at least 2 weeks after the picture was taken.

thanks everyone, i think my molly is preggas aswell now, but i got her 5 weeks ago and have no males in my tank. i went away for 3 days and came back and she looked fatter. she keeps going down to the bottom and hiding. is it possible?

May I respectfully refer you to my previous comment :good:
