Pregnant Platy!

I recently moved a couple guppies and platies into a 10 gal tank after deciding that keeping them with tiger barbs was not the best choice I've made. They are all doing well so far. I knew that i had one pregnant platy when i transferred them. I've been keeping an eye on her and watching her progress. well a few of the platies i have are quite translucent, so i can see whats going on in there. I'm seeing eyes! It's pretty neat

Not quite sure what i'm going to do with the fry... dont have another tank to move them to and I'm right around max with the current stock. any suggestions? Ill keep you posted on the progress!

put some plants in and try and let them survive then try and sell them at ur lfs

Or give them to a good home because if u give it to ur lfs they will probably end up dead in someone else's tank

Get yourself a little floating hatchery or two mate, this will keep them safe and you can grow them on a bit. Make sure your tank has plenty of hiding places for the fry to hide and try and add some plants for them to shelter under too when you do let them go. Don't put her into the hatchery until you see her square off on the back end as it is pretty stressful for them, but i reckon if you can see the eyes then she won't be too much longer. Crush up some flake/pellet for them to feed on after a day.

And increase your water changes too as this will help with the fry's growth rate.
