Pregnant Platy

i have a platy that i bought maybe 2 weeks ago and is pretty fat. she hasnt had her babies yet and im wondering if their is any reason why this might happen. can anyone help me out? :good:

From what I remember when my mom used to have platies (this was about five years ago) female platies are usually huge before they have their babies, they usually look like they're about to explode, also you should be able to see the gravid spot if she's near the end of the pregnancy. Do you have a separate tank to put the fry in, because platies eat their babies as soon as they have them . . .
 
Please have a look through the two pinned threads at the top of the forum section where we give some clues about what to look for with heavy livebearers. One is mine and follows a molly from one drop to the next in lots of pictures. The other is by a former member who has specific things that he looked for in a female when trying to determine its drop date. Each of us have very different methods but we often agreed when examining a female's picture when we were both on this forum.
