some of my fry

You have some nice fry there Mollygirls but they don't look like platies to me. They look more like my mollies did at a few weeks old. Sort of like these.

yes they are molly fry.. I posted under the title that they are mollies.. However 5 of the fry are swords :) My one molly that dropped was an amazing coloured girl. Unfourtunatly she passed on after giving birth. Hopefully as these little ones grow I will be able to post pics of thier colouring.. She was a beauty.

I missed the last platy drop so I am hoping to catch this drop.. I currently have over 100 molly fry with another girl due to drop any day now.. I am hoping for some platy fry. *fingers crossed*

I love fry! Exciting that you might get to see a drop. I never have, my fish drop very late at night. :)

I have seen quite a few drops actually. It is amazing to watch. I have called my 9 and 7 year old son to come see as well.. they just looked and said oh.. gross it looks like she is pooping them out..LOL.. I thought for sure they would find it interesting.. but nope they like daddy's fish better (husband has oscars..LOL)

I havent trapped her yet but will before I head off to bed. I would love to wake up to tiny babies swimming about in the breeder trap! Then I will have to start my hunt for more molly fry in the tank as I let my mollies drop in the main tank as I have soo many that losing a few wont make much difference.

Hubby told me I need to get a 45 gallon for the fry to grow in.. I agree.. However I think he is working his way up to convincing me to let him build a massive tank in the basement..LOL..

The massive basement tank is a great idea for your grow out tank. Leave the oscars wherever they are now.

I agree but I doubt hubby would let me steal his massive tank..LOL.. He wants to build a 500 gallon tank that will take my storage room out! Which means my tropical will go into the 125 gallon and my boys want my 55 gallon! Perhaps I can hold the kids off from the 55 gallon for now and use that as the grow out tank.. I have about 50 molly fry in the 55 already as they are big enough not to be eaten so they will grow out in there. The rest are in 10 gallons until they are big enough to be moved over to the 55.

My 7 year old son has a 30 gallon with chiclids in it so I cant add fry to that or they will be eaten and hubbies oscars will eat my babies for sure.. So the 55 is the safest place for them right now..:)

To think this all began with a 30 gallon tank that was supposed to be my husbands only.. Everyone in the house now wants a bigger tank for themselves and thier fish..LOL.. Thankfully my 1 year old is too young to be demanding her own tank! Before long though I am sure she will have her own tank in her room!LOL

My platy dropped this afternoon while I was out at the store.. I dont think she is done yet so we will see how many fry she gives me.. I am so excited !!!! :yahoo:

Yes it was worth the wait.. I got some pretty good pics today during her drop.. Hopefully once I download them to the puter they still look good..LOL
