Pregnant Platy?

I am very confused! I have a Platy that I thought was pregnant, however, after reading an article, it looks like it is a male! "It's" tummy is huge, but has that extra little fin near his anal fin. I have placed "it" into a breeding box, just in case. How long should I wait? I don't want to loose any fry, however, I don't want to stress him if nothing is going to happen!

Welcome to the forum DNCrota. If you are uncertain about the platy's sex, this is a picture of a male. Notice the long thin shape of the fin on the bottom.

This is a picture of a female. Notice the triangular shape of that same fin on her.

All other ways of sexing a platy are not very good but this one is 100% accurate. Sorry about the poor pictures but I realized after I had them that the tank glass was filthy.
