Pregnant Platy? Maybe?

i just got 2 platys from the pet store today and I think my female might already be pregnant, but im not sure. There is a black spot on her lower stomach and she is a little bit fatter then the male we got. Is she pregnant?

Welcome to the forum Amanda.
Unless you got that female from an all female tank, she is probably carrying fry. Some shops do separate the sexes, from what I am told, so I suppose that is possible. If you have a clear picture of your female, we might be able to hazard a guess about her present progress toward her next drop.

I don't have a pic as of right now, but will try to geta clear one. The reason I'm not sure if she's pregnant or not is because I have had a pregnant platy before and they were very fat, but this one isn't yet. I have no clue how long it would take for her to drop since the other platy I have had, never got to have the fry. They always seemed to die before they could. This is a different tank so I'm hoping the outcome will be different.
