Pregnant Platy Looking For Extra Food

One of my female platies seems like she's looking for more food. The thing is i have 5 other platies and only one of them looks pregnant also. I've feed the fish twice this morning hoping to settle them down a bit but I guess with my male constantly chasing her she's burned it all off. They have had 3 peas and two small pinches of flakes. She's not getting ready to deliver is she and you can see pics of her in journals.

what do you mean "looking for food" what is she doing to look for food?

She searches the bottom like she would if she had just been fed looking food that had gotten away and then goes back to the surface in a almost straight up line with her head on top and tail at the bottom

Any platy will constantly search for food. It does not mean that she is hungry. What you need to realize is that in the wild almost any platy will be on a constant search for food because they will always be a bit hungry. When we bring them into our tanks they are well fed but their instincts to search for food are not reduced. Even when they are fed to the point that they can eat no more, they will continue to search for food. It is as if the activity is hard wired into their genetics. Do not stress too much when you see that action. If you know that your fish are well fed, do not feed any more.

I cant wait for all the newness of owning platies to wear off. Lol.
