Pregnant Molly

I have a molly that just gave birth last night in our community tank while we were out. I have only seen a few of them, mostly hiding in the gravel. How many fry do mollies usually give birth to?

I've heard of mollies giving birth from 12 or 13 to as many as 40 or 50. It just depends. Some of your molly fry could have gotten eaten. That would have definately decreased the number.

yes, if they are in a community tank, i'd guess quite a few will have already been eaten

hope the rest survive though!
