I have just bought a pair of sailfin mollys including a pregnant one. The man at the shop said "expect babies will be any second now"! It has a pregnancy spot and is extreamly fat! How do i tell when the babies are coming as i realy dont want them to be eaten?

My 54L tank now contains:

1 Sailfin pleco 4"
1 Dwarf pleco 1"
1 African black knife fish 4"
1 Kissing gourami 2"
1 Honey gourami 1"
1 Glass catfish 2"
1 Coolie loach 3"
2 Corydoras 1" & 2"
2 Tiger platys 0.5"
2 Sailfin mollys 1.5"

^
So you all dont think im nuts havin a knife fish and a sailfin pleco in my small tank!

Thanks a lot Joemuz

Either

A. Put Your Molly In A Tank On Her Own With A Sponge Filter So The Fry Dont Get Sucked In The Filter.
OR
B. By A Breeding Net, Its Shaped Like A Cube, And Put The Molly In That, But Keep It Floating Around The Tank Shes In Now, Then The Fry Will Be Trapped In The Net. It Might Be Ok For A Few Days, But They Need Room, So I Would Advice To Buy A New Tank, Bout 10G To Store The Fry In :good:

Good Luck With Them.
By The Way, The Bigger The Gravid Spot (Black Dot On Molly) The More Fry And The Quicker They Will Come :D

Oh.........She has a prety large darkish patch just above the analfin, about the size of a skittles sweet.
will they be ok in a 1 L tub for a day if i put the female in now and take her out when she gives birth? Its a bit cruel in my oppinion so i better ask for a seccond oppinion? thanks so much Joemuz

i dunno but i had noticed tht my black molly was a lille fat so i had kept it seperate and today i saw there were about 20 tiny mollys.. omg it looks sooooo cute.. and i was wondering how to feed these smallers.. they are very tiny.. any ideas?

Well Firstly, You Feed Them Liquid Foods Or Microworms

And Joemuz, Take The Mother Out As Soon As You Think She Has Finished Giving Birth To All Of The Fry. As For The Fry, Keep Them There Until You Can Get A New Tank, About 5 ish Gallons, And Take Them Out When They Are About 1.5 Inches, Or Use Your Own Judgement. Basically, When They Are Big Enough To Not Be Eaten By Other Fish :good:

By The Way, Are You Selling Them Or Keeping Them ?

Keeping some, why?

And also i will put them in a little tank i have when i sort it out in a few days (if the fry are here by then LOL)
And how many litres is in 6 gallons? (im no good with gallons  ) Im getting a new tank in the next few months, it will either be (138 Litres) 122x38x31cm or (103 Litres) 92x38x31cm.
Thanks Joemuz

If You Look Further Up, Bharathbala2003 Asked What To Feed Fry

No Problem With The Help, And Yes Do Keep Me Informed :D
