Ok so I’ve recently purchased a smaller tank for birthing, and I was wondering if it was a smart idea to place my obviously pregnant guppy in there ? And also does she look close to giving birth? I can see the fry eyes

It is usually a bad idea to net a guppy that is close to giving birth. This adds an immense amount of stress to the fish, and can cause them to abort or birth too early. I would keep an eye out and move the fry after they are born.

If you need to move a pregnant livebearer, or one which has given birth within the last few days, use a container and a net.

Catch the fish in the net but don't lift the net out of the water. Put the container in the tank and bring it up under the net, then lift the container with the net inside it out of the tank. In the new tank, lower the container with the net inside into the water and let the fish swim out of the net. This keeps the female in water all the time. Lifting the net out of the tank on its own risks crushing the fry and damaging the mother.

Or move some water of the tank in a bucket and put her in there. Works as well... Once she's finishing dropping those fry, you can put her back in the tank.

Update !! Earlier today she had about 7-8 guppies from my count (her first litter) I gave her a few more hours and she was moved back to the community tank the baby fry will be grown and taken care of in the smaller tank
