lol yeah im hoping they are not hybrids but at this point its kinda obvious they might just be.. Who knows they could be cool fish otherwise im just gonna cross my fingers that all the fry just jump all at once and i will not be there to save them..
Her mouth is empty no babies two weeks in, she had her own tank the whole time everything was normal shes now tunneling and eating why would she have spit the eggs, there are no eggs no fry somebody anybody have answers?
Your problem might not be the female, It is probably the male. If the eggs are not fertilized by the male, the female will hold them for the required period of time. If she does not sence the fry she will eat the eggs ergo no signs of eggs in the tank, infact the never made it out her mouth.
Thats what i thought, but i was under the impression from people on the forums that she will lay the eggs and have them fertilized by the male once they are in the mouth its a done deal.. I guess not. Thanks
no I have observed in many sicumstances the female carry the eggs full term, what you want to do is try to get a look at the eggs if posible. The color tells it all.
All in time though just need to wait for your male to mature a little more.
Hang in their you will have fry before you know it
usually Fertilized eggs are normally opaque or have some color to them. The colors of the eggs depend upon the species. Unfertilized eggs are white . I have to check my litterature for the particular species though.
They werent white making the fertilized i believe, im not really sure what her problem was. I still have her in her own tank unsure if i should let her breed again, It would be a hybrid being as she is the only mature of her species. She is digging up her tank though showing flat surfaces indicating she may want to breed again soon.
