hello, im new to keeping these lovely fish, i bought two and they been mating pretty much as soon as got in the tank lol. so one has got fatter every day and the other fish kept annoying her lately as she has been sitting on the gravel on floor of tank and (dunno how to explain this sorry but) she was waving her back end alot on bottom of tank. so ive put her in one of those floating breeding type things at the moment. does she sound like shes gonna drop soon? any advice please from any experts? thanks shell

still nothing bless her. does no one know how long these things take?

usually a pregnant molly will take 2-4 weeks to lay her babys.
leave her in the chamber untill she has layed her babies then once she has layed them, leave her in the chamber for another 15 minutes untill you think she has stopped laying them.
they usually have around 20-60 babies in the one litter.

The gestation period for Mollies is roughly 4-5 weeks. Labor may take as long as 24 hours, but usually takes no longer than 2 hours. Do not leave her in the breeding trap for more than 48 hours and if she begins to look distressed, she should be released. 20-60 fry is a decent average, but they can have up to 150 fry in a drop.
