hi, a few weeks ago i bought some swordtails, one was pregnant, i noticed the next day two little fry swimming around but no more, obviously the next morning they were gone, but a week later the mum is still pregnant why would she have dropped only two fry, by the way i am getting a breeding net today as i have noticed my other fish is pregnant, and also will aquatic shops take some of the fry off my hands?

She almost certainly dropped more than two - but that's all you saw. Poecilid livebearers have the ability to store sperm, so they can carry on having babies for 6 months or so without further, er, interaction with a male.
With regard to LFS taking fry from you, some do some don't, and very rarely will any give you money for them. I found it was best to let nature run its course with the fry, that way I wasn't overrun with unwanted fry.
