preferred substrate for ADF's and Shrimp

1. would my ADF's be better off with gravel or sand?
2. i heard ghost shrimp are muddwellers. I have a tank with gravel in it. Do i need to make a new tank with sand or mud for the ghost shrimp so they have something to burrow into?

My shrimp seem quite happy with gravel as long as there are hiding places and things to climb around on.They station themselves amongst the plants and ornaments,and wait for manna from heaven

They also spend a great deal of time mining the gravel for food and leave nothing behind.Very busy little critters they be

Hi reinhart

I use fine gravel for all my fish and frogs. I don't think they would do as well on pebbles, which some people call gravel. Also, they eat from the bottom and food is more apt to get down between the pieces if they are large, in which case he will go hungry and the food will spoil.
