Does anyone have suggestions for the proper placement of heaters, airstones and hob filters?
i currently have my heater set up under neath my hob intake horizontally along the bottom, figuring that circulating the water away from the heater will help insure conscistant temperature throughout. Any thoughts or comments on this and general tank logistics?

I have always placed my filter opposite the heater on the theory that placment would promote circulation although I bet in most cases with tanks 50 gallons and less it probably does not make much difference as long as both are properly sized. Scott

I generally place my heater near the filter intake, so it pulls the heated water into the filter and circulates it back out into the tank.

Its official then..... it doesnt matter !!! LOL Just as long as its not in dead water, and not upside down.

I have an airstone under the heater, then I added a powerhead without moving the airstone....... now my bubbles bend!
