I have 4 PH1200 powerheads from Aquarium Systems stuck one in each corner of my 75gal tank. Each one is held in place with 3 rubber suckers.

The trouble is I can't get them to stay in place for more than a couple of days - I've cleaned the glass and replaced the suckers, with no effect.
I've tried sticking them in place with superglue gel, but the glue doesn't sick to the glass underwater.
Is there any other mechanism for holding them in place?

I thought about buying some small magnets, and fixing them to the back of the powerheads with a bit of milliput, but I'm woried about the magnets corroding in the salt water - does anybody make plastic encapsulated magnets for this purpose?

The other possibility is to fix the powerheads to a vertical strip of plastic the same height as the tank - this can then be stood on the tank bottom to take the weight, and secured at the top to stop it tipping forward. However I'd still have the same problem of how to secure it - and if it did come away from the tank wall, the amount of stuff on the loose in the tank will be signicantly increased.

Any other suggestions?

I know how you feel :/ Mine came off again yesterday and my tank was clouded up for a couple of hours, i came home last night and it was halfway off again :dunno:

I was told to clean the suckers and this will stop air bubbles getting between them and the glass, still doesn't work though :(

Maxijets come with a plastic strip that slides in the motor housing and hooks to the side of the tank. You could also try some aquarium silicone. SH

1) Clean the rubber cups with vinegar
2) Rinse off
3) Dip in boiling water to soften them slightly
4) Add a dab of silicone sealant (optional)
5) Stick to glass making sure to push all the way down to expel any trapped air

I've done this and mine are stuck firm (Seio powerheads in 'gun' mode :p)

I've come up with a solution - it won't suit everybody, but works for me.

I cut a long thin strip of 0.5mm thick plastic card (bought from an art shop), and glued a hook and the powerhead brackets onto this.

I can then hook this over the side of the tank, and the powerheads will stay perfectly in place. I've kept the suckers on the brackets - they help to stabilise the powerheads, but it doesn't really matter if they come loose.

Take a mag float and use epoxy to glue the powerhead to the inside part of the mag float. Then attach it to the tank and move into position.
