I have 4 PH1200 powerheads from Aquarium Systems stuck one in each corner of my 75gal tank. Each one is held in place with 3 rubber suckers.
The trouble is I can't get them to stay in place for more than a couple of days - I've cleaned the glass and replaced the suckers, with no effect.
I've tried sticking them in place with superglue gel, but the glue doesn't sick to the glass underwater.
Is there any other mechanism for holding them in place?
I thought about buying some small magnets, and fixing them to the back of the powerheads with a bit of milliput, but I'm woried about the magnets corroding in the salt water - does anybody make plastic encapsulated magnets for this purpose?
The other possibility is to fix the powerheads to a vertical strip of plastic the same height as the tank - this can then be stood on the tank bottom to take the weight, and secured at the top to stop it tipping forward. However I'd still have the same problem of how to secure it - and if it did come away from the tank wall, the amount of stuff on the loose in the tank will be signicantly increased.
Any other suggestions?
