I got a new powerhead for my 55 gallon cichlid tank, and it seems to be pushing out a lot of water which creates a pretty large current in the tank.

Will this stress them out?

I mean, how much current is too much for a cichlid tank?

Thanks!

As long as they aren't getting blown around the tank and there are areas where they can get out of the flow, you can add as many powerheads as you want. :shifty: Well, within reason of course. :D

Mine always loved swimming in the current and would fight for the prime spot, though the fighting could have been just because.

Yeah, they definitely like to swim in the high current.

And there are areas where they can get away from the current as well.

So I think I am good.

Thanks for your response!
