Powerhead Question

I have modded maxi-jet 900s. The impellor is hitting the stopper it seems like, because it is making alot of noise. They say this is because the magnet needs to be broken in. How long does this take and can I run it dry (i assume no since it is water cooled)?

defo no to the dry run mate
you might have to give it a tap or a good smack lol to kick start it properly ive had to do this in the past and still do on a couple lol

Is this going to be a problem that will keep happening? or will it sort itself out over time? Im running them with a redsea wavemaster, so i don't want it to break while i'm out of the house!
