Has anyone know of much success with this species? I have been reading that they are not very hardy and are prone to failure in captivity. Do you all know if this is true? In general, are they reef safe?

Thanks!

I've read about lots of australian reefers keeping potters angel's successfully, however I really have no idea on how hardy they are. However that could give you some idea on what they are like. As for being reef safe. I am pretty sure they are like any other dwarf angel, most of the time they are ok but there is a risk that they won't be.

They were all over in Hawaii, when I came back I brought one with various other fish because they were so cheap there, about $7.00 for a potters angel. and threadfin butterflys were $9.50. Unfortunately when I got home I learned that the house sitter had been over feeding the tank and there had been a nitrate spike. all the fish got very stressed out. and to top it all of, one of the fish had ick and brought it to the whole tank. Although the potters angel did last the longest before dying. If I had had better water parameters the fishw ould have been fine I think.
