i went and bought some potted cryptos and instead of sand or gravel they used tissue in the pot

they are growing fine and the fish in the lfs planted tank where they came from were still thriving since my last visit

i placed the pots in my tank

but will this tissue have bad affects or kill my fish or pollute the water or anything

thanx for replies :fish:

That's normally the case.

It's rock wool I believe. Just break it off in halves, then gently pick the rest off. Might have to do it in some water to help loosen it up a little, but most of the time it comes off easy enough.

so do i have to do it or can i just leave it in my tank with the plant in there

there are roots coming out of the bottom because the pots have a large hole in the bottom

TheyI was informed that normally soak it is in plant food, which can encourage algea in your tank.

Always best to remove it i reckon!

It's always best to remove you plants from pots, to get optimum growth.
