Posts Not Put In Correctly Titled Forum Section, Do You?

Andy you will never fit in the good members group for many reasons:

1. You speak your opinion.
2. You tell it how it is
3. Your sinature does not state how much you love the other members of this forum
4x You dont own any mollies or guppies or now the ever so popular Oscar which for some reason we have a club for on here now.

You forgot to say dosent put picture threads in the tropical discussion :grr: :grr:

Hi doresy :)

FYI, whether or not to move a thread is strictly a mod's call. When I see a thread (no matter what the title is) that could lead in many directions I'm usually inclined to leave it it Tropical Discussion. A stocking thread tends to be like that.

In the case you are referring to, the OP seemed open to suggestions and had not even decided if he/she wanted New World or African cichlids, so there is no other appropriate place for it.

As Mods we realize that we can't please all the people all the time. Some of the members are just chronic whiners. Of course, that's not a complaint, it's just an observation.

Hi.....I was just trying to get a good thread going as many of my post have been falling at the first fence lately. Guess it got quite a good viewing and a couple of contributions from the more :shifty: members.... ;)

Personally, I couldn't give a flying fish if people use the 'wrong' section but if we all used the Tropical Discussion for all our posting then you would have a full time job sorting it out :/

Anyways, better things to do....off to the Cichlid section, that'll be under 'Bettas' no doubt

The posts that bother me the most are the ones in the marine section. They really annoy me, all the journals in chit chat and nano reef. And the people asking about a specific fish that put it in hardware. And the people asking about a certain skimmer that put it in Saltwater fish. I will never understand that.

Also, when you do a search for anything now, the misplaced topics will throw things off a little bit.

There is a fairly logical reason for this, the journal section came after a lot of people had started journals. Those with journals when the section was created were given the option to have their thread moved or leave it where it is. Some chose to leave their post where it was and as such there will always be some journals (which will lead to others being created there).

Whether it is right/wrong/good/bad I don't know, but I thought I would explain why there originally were journals outside the designated sub forum.
