Hullo, once more.

Tomorrow morning Iam getting 6 new fish :good: , I assume the water they will arrive in will be full of ammonia.
Whereas my tank water is perfect, I don't want to slosh any of the crappy water into my tank, I dont have a posh dripping device.

Iam sorry to be a nuisance again, but what is the best method of aclimating my new chums to my tank water, please?

Float them in the tank for 30 minutes to adjust the temperature, then just before releasing them, Syphon some tank water into a bucket..... Release the fish in the bucket. Leave em there for 20 minutes.... Pour out through a net, and place the fish in the tank.

Please let us know where you got them from, condition of fish, time from ordering to receiving, and any other things that strike you one way or the other. I'm thinking of ordering thru the mail myself and just looking for other peoples experiences.

Thanks

I ordered and paid for them late yesterday, from m4ddogmaiden on ebay.

I bought 1m and 2f yellow labs, and 1m and 2f Metriaclima Hajomaylamdi, 30 quid for the fish and 15 quid for postage.

The fish will arrive tomorrow morning, so Ill add the other info when they turn up.

oh, the fish weren't an actual ebay sale because the fish they offer on ebay come in pairs, I messaged and asked for the ones Iam getting.
They replied to messages really quickly, so Iam pleased so far with them.

Oh, I noticed you say you are a tarheel, thats carolina, in america isn't it? Iam in blighty.
And I have broken some rule by posting a vendors details, even though it is in the interest of TFF members to know?

I've heard people say DONT acclimatise them in their own water if they are posted because the water is really bad and they will probably be pretty cold so by warming them up their metabolism kicks back in and the toxic water can be worse than scooping them out with a net and putting them into your tank.
