Gold gouramis should be kept in a 55g at least in my opinion the get big and they swim alot but I still like the set up good job!

Im really disappointed that people on here are so judgemental.
I'm really disappointed that people are taking everything so personally.

This forum is for the sake of fish and their health and if someone doesn't have the right stocking or aren't allowing schooling species to be together, then I assume that they aren't looking after their fish correctly. I know you say that "they have been fine for years," but since when is "fine" acceptable in fish keeping? Maybe I'm different in my fish keeping style, but I always try to keep my fish to where they are more than "fine," they are "wonderful" or "excellent."

But that's just me.

Wether you like the comments or not is neither here nor there, the point is you posted images of your tank in a public forum. People will comment on porr stocking like yours, the tank simply isnt large enough for the Knife, the Silver Dollar and tbh the Gouramis.....

As much as you probably love the fish you have and care for them, the tank isnt suitable. Id suggest looking at small Tetras, Barbs etc...rather than what you have.

Not being mean at all, but the silver dollar should be in a group of 5 or more and a 55gallon tank.
eric, were you planning on getting an Aqua-one then? There is a huge stock at my LFS, but I must say that they're too plastic and tacky for my liking and don't offer a very good filtration system. Just my personal opinion :)

Edit. Just spotted the Knifefish too. He's going to get BIG! Too big.

lol, na i have already got some i just wanted to c how oter people have decorated them :) ill try to get some pics soon

cheers

eric, your largest tank looks awesome! Really like the mix of plants and flower pots. Lucky Kribs they are. :good:

Edit. Just spotted the Knifefish too. He's going to get BIG! Too big.

Do you know what kind of knife fish that is? It's an African brown knife fish (Xenomystus nigri), and they only get around 7 inches in aquariums. Never seen one much bigger than that. You must be thinking of the clown knife fish.

As for the silver dollar, they are supposed to be in groups and in larger tanks, but it looks very healthy.

doresy i love the tank and the betta's awesome. i got some new pics of my tanks last nite but u have to wait cos i got to go get them off my granpa. lol cos i took them on his camera.
