After dropping her 13 fry in the net - lucky I was up for it - I got her out without fry loss:

The mother was completely harassed by the other guppies on her return to the main part of the same tank. Even though she had actually had one for company in the run up to birth.

So - she is now in another tank where no one bothers her - but she is so "S" shaped it is not true. A week later she is still bent - though swimming well and showing no other signs of distress.

Any ideas or is this normal?

sorry to say but my fish was like that for about two weeks showed no signs of distress/ disease or anything then one day i came home and found her on her side :-( i don't know what causes this but i was so upset good luck with her and i pray she doesn't die hopefully it's nothing :D

It doesn't sound very normal to me... I seem to remember reading somewhere that this could be a sign of some nutrient deficiency, but I'm not 100% sure of that. What do you feed her? Perhaps a more varied diet would help?

In the run up to birth she was on a variety of flake, shrimp and bloodworms - all of which she ate well. She gets offered the same mix now.

I was wondering if she was just old and it was one birth too many. She hasn't been with me too long but who knows about how long she evaded capture in the LFS (!)

She's still swimming strong and has teamed up with my Silver Molllies in the absence of other guppies in her world right now
