Hi everyone. Sorry kinda new at this. I have a gourami that has a little pinkish red growth looking thing by his gill cover on one side. He is eating fine... swimming fine.... no crazy behaviour at all. Is it just an injury? I have a few different kinds of gourami's and the gold one is very aggressive and picks on the others. I am hoping it is just an injury.

Also I have a blue gourami that has ... well the only way to explain it is a fog on the lens of his eye. I have read what it possibly could be but I wanted to know for sure.

Anybody have any ideas??

I might google Iridovirus among dwarf gourami, Some of these fish are prone to this.
Would also note that male gourami are often aggressive with other males and or other gourami in general.
Would see that water test's zero for ammonia and nitrites, and nitrAte levels were not much higher than 20 ppm.
Unless tank is quite large,,the aggressive fish may need to be moved if indeed it is damaging other fishes.

Well the tank is a 30 Tall. I have 1 gold gourami, 1 blue gourami, 1 drarf gourami, 1 silver gourami, and 2 algea eaters. The gold and blue gouramis are survivors of the last tank. The gold gourami killed all the fish in the last tank except the blue gourami.

Yes,,these fish are not all that peaceful with other's, especially the males.

and where as a 30 gallon sounds large, it is actually still a fairly small tank - - with the tall versions being even more cramped due to the lack of horizontal swim space. Fish benefit from having room to swim back and forth so width and length are much more important than height unless you are keeping angels who benefit from high tanks.

you sound over stocked as far as territories needed for these fish and should really choose 1 gourami to keep, the rest to rehome, and then maybe do a shoal of small tetras.

on another note, what species of pleco do you have - - most will grow too big for your tank and a thirty gallon is really only suitable for one of the smaller species, not two.
