I've had my aquarium since September or so... The whole time I've had it the glass hasn't been perfectly transparent. I thought the glass had been scratched, as it was a second hand aquarium. I have on occasion scrubbed the glass, to get rid of the beginnings of algae and such and the glass will look better for a few days..
It wasn't until today, when I was really close to the glass trying to spot fry in the back of the tank when I noticed that that when my fish swim close to the front, trying to get my attention that they move the spots on the glass that I thought were scratches. Taking a closer look I realized it wasnt scratches at all, it's some sort of plant or bacteria and when the fish swim by they stir it up a little.
(I've had algae build up before and this is not algae) I think it may be mold.... But I have no idea... My camera's don't focus enough to get it in focus at all, it just looks like scratches or tiny blurry bubbles...
So my question is, how do I get rid of it if it is indeed mold? I assume it's not a harmful mold as my fish have lived with it almost as long as I have had the tank... (I guess it came with the tank then) And it has never caused any apparent problems other than slightly clouded glass...But I would still like it gone, as it does cloud my glass a bit and it probably isn't healthy for my fish..
(I do regular weekly water changes of 30% so I don't neglect, this stuff has just always been there)
