i possibly found the problem as to why my fish have been rubbing

after soaking my piece of wood for a month i put it back in my tank 2 weeks ago few days after that my fish started rubbing on stuff
well i was looking at it today with my nieces and i noticed i can barely see the back of the tank and it started foaming a little at the top and the water is a dark brown color as seen in the pictures below, this happen a month ago when i first put it in to my tank so looks like i have to find a new piece of wood now, im in the process of doing a water so after im done im not putting it back in

is it wood from a shop ? did you soak it in hot water ? soaking in cold water ive found is almost useless, even soaking in water at tank temp is hugely different to cold soaking in a bucket for a month. ive got a lot of wood in my tank, and the biggest bits were all soaked in a dog bath for at least a month. every now and then i would put boiling water on them, but obviously keeping this up for a month is costly and time consuming. after a month or so i thought the water wasnt getting any browner. then i put it in my nice warm tank water and within a day it was tea coloured.

ya i noticed that i got it from a shop and i soaked it in boiling water , ill just go find some outside and soak it for a bit

Hi there, your wood is reducing tannins which is natural, and harmless, its beneficial to most fish from amazon etc. biotopes as well... I won't be the cause of any health problems ...
