Possibly A Silly Question

I've recently put some plants in my new tank. The plants had what looked like metal at the bottom...obviously to weight them. I don't think it should be...but should I have removed this metal before planting in my tank???

If the plants dont float when you plant them, its best to do this than to weight them. But if they are stubborn and wont stay down, it can be used for a while until they eventually stay down.
Problem with the led is it can cause the stems to go squishy if it its too tight, but if its temporary, or loose enough it shouldnt be a problem.
