Possible to use bricks?

Just wondered, is it possible to use normal bricks which you use to make houses etc in your fish tank?

If so do you have to do anything to them before they can be used?

Id clean them well my friend uses bricks in his tank so it probable would be ok

If they are ordinary red clay bricks they will be fine (after a good wash) but may split or crumble over time

You might also want to cushion the bricks on sand/gravel also. It dissipates any energy if they were accidentally dropped into the tank, at any level. You don't want to damage the glass.

Out of curiosity, why're you using bricks for?

If the brick bubbles then it is not suitable
