i hadn't really planned on getting any new tanks or fish in the near future, but i saw a fish i really wanted to get, so i might be adding another tank to my house. what i wanted to get was a JD that was about 5-6". i also saw a jag that is about 3-4", would they work together? the other thing is, i will be moving in just under a year and will have to find new homes for all my fish since i can't take them with me. so to clarify my question, would a 5-6" JD and a 3-4" Jag work together for just under a year?

it'll most likely be a 55G, and not that it's totally indicative of what'll happen if i put them in a tank at home, but the jag is in a tank with a couple big plecos and some small oscars and all it does is hide in it's fake stump ornament.

but with the JD being that much bigger, would that help? and i figure a 55g will work for them for the rest of the year, there won't be that much of a growth spurt will there?

The JD should grow an 1" per months till he hits about 7-8 inches then will slow right down. I wouldnt do it but its up tp you i think the jag will grow up and beat the JD down

ok, and most likely they'll be gone anyways by the time i'm ready to get them. i guess if either is still available i could just get the jack. and like you said earlier, i'm not sure if it's worth it to get any now, i should just wait until i move to get any.

I wouldnt do it. I think the Jag will get too aggressive in that small of a tank. Blue acaras are nice. So are convicts.

If you Wan't I have some new convict fry, in a few weeks You can have some if you want, its either you or Jessie (who seems to have dropped off the edge of the earth) or the turtle

thanks for the offer, but i just don't have any room for more fish now and i'm trying to avoid getting more tanks until i move. i was thinking about getting another big tank for a jag or something, but i'm going to put that off for another year and then i think i'm going to go for a couple Parachromis loisellei.

As for Jessie, i know she's been busy with her Pirhanas and moving.

if i had room, i'd definitely take some.
