Possible Tank Mates...

Provided the gravel has smooth edges, then bottom dwellers will be fine.
Peppered Corydoras prefer cooler water so it might be worth looking at some of the other species.

i was just reading another post about meds. people say they just put their fish in the QT and leave them their, if something develops they treat it.
personally i wouldn't see anything wrong with adding a little melafix, it can help aid in the fishes fins repairing or possibly catch any early stage fungus. however the other people say that sometimes using melafix when it's not necessary can make things immune to being treated by it later.

if you click on the search button and type melafix and read some of the posts that come up there will probably be many with people giving their opinions. many of them will have better advice than mine. i'm new to this too.

i would think the glo lights would be fine for awhile in the qt tank..the thing with schooling is that it just makes the fish happier, some fish will actualy get unhealthy, but most that school, are just more active, more colorful, and just better off when they are kept in a group. so i would think they'd be fine for a while.

If I go with the cories, then I'll probably switch to a smoother gravel like poilished pebbles. I keep my tanka round 78 degrees F...is that too warm for Peppered cories? What temp do albino's like?

Thanks so much for all of your help!

Peppered Cories prefer a temp of between 18-23C so it would be a little too warm for them.
As for the Albino Cories, do you know what type they are?

They are Corydoras Aenus..I read that peppered corries like temps up to 79 degrees f though.

Corydoras aeneus will be fine in that temp as they prefer warmer water.
Although Peppered Cories will tolerate warmer water, they will thrive better in cooler temperatures.

Well what's the idea temp for the peppred cories? I really like them over the albino ones. Maybe I could drop my tank down a degree or so?

By the way, you don't need to keep the filter PAD from the quarrantine tank in your main filter, just put the whole 10 gal tanks filter in your main tank and leave it running alondside your current filter until you need it.

Ideal temp for Peppers is between 18-22C.

Maybe I'm not gonna get cories at all then...Might be easier lol. Can you recommend any other peaceful bottom dwellers for my tank? This way I won't have to change the gravel either.

Thanks Honey, that's what I'm going to do :)
