Possible new tanks

I was looking in the classifieds, and found an add with three brand new in box 55 gallon aquarium kits at 60$ (US).

I gave them a call and all they got left is a 40 gallon kit. No biggie. I decided for the price of 40$ it is worth it. What do you all think?

I want to know what kind of fish to stock it with once it is cycled. I want NW Cichlids, something really pretty. I am kind of fond of rams. Would a pair be okay with about six corydoras?

That is such a great price. Best of luck with anything that you decide to put in there. The 40 gal is a great size.

Rams with cories is also good idea

Firemouths could work. They are not very aggressive (except when breeding) and are very nice looking cichlids. They aren't really South American though, they are Central American. If you have to have South American (if you are doing a theme tank) I would suggest rams or keyholes. A 40 isn't large enough for a severum or I would suggest them.
