hey guys so i had another question. how much am i exactly supossed to feed them. im almost certain i was way overfeeding. but ive heard varied things like feed them no more than they can eat in 3-5 minutes. however my fish act like pirahnas and literally its all gone within like seconds.

heres an example of how much ive been feeding them since the recent ammonia crisis. and this is only once a day. i also have some cichlid sinking pellets and some algea plate looking things.but have recently stopped feeding those

these are the large cichlid flakes btw

Here is my remaining fish
Green Severum
Jack Dempsey
Kenyi
Red Breast Sunfish
Red Tail Shark
Red Tail Botia
Jaguar Cat

Is this enough for them? also do you think the bottom feeders are getting enough from whats left over, because it doesnt seem like much is left over.

im afraid my severum might be getting ich. do you guys have any idea what this is on his fins and how i can stop it? sorry for the pic qaulity they more too much

that does not seem like that much food for that many fish. i would feed twice that and take it easy with the sinking foods. my fish get that stuff on their tails too. sometimes it is only one and it is more of just a 'mutation' in the fin line. i think i added meds when there was a lot of dots and it was clearly not the fin itself.

The reason I'm currently feeding them so little is due to my recent out of control ammonia and nitrite issues. But yeah the dots are only on my Severus fins, there doesn't appear to be any dots on the body and none of my other fish have any either. I been using quick cure the last 3 days and just about all the dots are gone. So it could
Be either or

if you are worried about ammonia and nitrites i would recommend getting this stuff you put in a filter bag (which are inexpensive) and putting the media in it. in the pic on the left, is the stuff you are looking for. it neutralizes the ammonia. i have been thinking of getting some for my goldfish tank.

you can either get just the ammonia neutralizing crystals or a mix with carbon.
