Possible Ich?

last week I used and internal worm med that caused allot of white residue in the tank.
and now about 5 days later theres small white spots on my rainbow cichlid.
it might be residue from the med. but is it possible for a spontaneous outbreak of ich?
i have not made any new additions to the tank for some time. this includes plants and decor.

Is the spot a tiny white dot? What were your fish Doug that made you think they had internal parasites? It might have just been ick all along. Ich can stay out of site in the gills and mouth even.

Watch them for any flashing rubbing on objects. If they start to flash often you have ich.

yeah it looks like the beginnings of ich. but this thread is more to ask if ich can just happen with no real explanation of where it came from

Strange.
Whitespot looks like the fish has been sprinkled in salt, or the spots will be the size of a grain of salt.
Whitespot can lay dorimant but not sure in a fresh water tank.
Any redness to the spots.
Is it possible to load a pic onto the site of the spots.

i cant take a good enough photo but it definitely looks like ich and theres more today than yesterday so i upped the temp and added malachite green + formaldehyde.

also its only on 1 fish. so yeah its really strange
