So last night I had a look at my fish and one of them had kinda a cotton like substance nots it back tail. I caught him and it kinda just fell of leaving a reddish mark. taking a look at it was more slimy out of water and I used something else to prod it and felt kinda slimy wasn't to game to touch it (photo on the spoon thing). I did a 25% water change (as usual day for water change) I do have my temp on about 27/28 degrees buts it
Always been that since day one. (Also have a dwarf flag chicilid 5 harlequin rasboras and (I'm gonna get yelled bout this one but there's reasons) one other panda Cory (I haven't been able to get anymore and don't have a hospital taken)
This afternoon I've notice it's started growing back again same spot no bigger but it's got me a little worried? I think it maybe fungus looking at photos online but it hasn't really spread
The fish is still eating swimming around as normal...below are some photos
Ohh and his tails been like that forever....

Firstly : 27/28C is too high for Panda's, which are cool(er) water Corys. Could be a secundairy infection after a scratch, but could be almost anything.
Most fungus looks a bit furry (Is this english ???) and nog a lump that comes of !!!
I hope we are able to diagnose with the pics.

i can drop the temputure slowly ive always had it at 27/28c since ive had my tank i dont know if it was scratched ive been checking in on him and its still the same size hes still happy swimming around and the lump came off when i caught him trying to get a view (so he was kinda rubbing against the net to get out if that makes sense)

i really dont know what to do i have primafix and also have aquarium salt (none of which i have put in) i just put fresh carbon in the filter like 2 weeks ago when i did a rinse of the media... if more photos needed just say any advice would be much appriciated

Awww this little guy is really in a poor state. Think it has no barbels as well. It has more whitish all over and there seem to be some tiny spots (itch??)as well. The bigger parts are part of it's slimecoat I think. Couses can be bacterial I think, but also ammoniaburning / nitrite.
How extreme did you rinse the media???? Possibly lot of good bacteria where destroyed and you could have ammonia, nitrite (can you test these).
What are you feeding it BTW?

he hasnt had barbels for a while either  lost it when i first got him and had pebble things in there one reason i have sand and all the fish enjoy it much much more

i know sad
the whiteish spots is actually sand XD hes beeing playing in the sand next to my cichlid who likes to dig with his tail and spalshes it all around kinda really does my head in koz the sand always gets moved around....
i rinsed it in old tank water and dont extremely rinse it

PH: 7.0-7.2 (inbetween)
Ammonia: 0
Nitrites: 0
Nitrates: 20-40 (in between)

and micro wafers (the smaller slow sinking pellets that they all eat up without problems) and also once every now and again some tropical fish flakes

Barbellloss mostly isn't due to pebbles, but to bacterial infections (sharp gravel / bad waterconditions). And to my opinion sometimes the lack of quality food (proteins / minerals / vitamins) especially at young age.
Okay waterparameters aren't really te problem. I think it is thin. So the white in front is sand too?
Let's wait for the opinion of other members

Well from what I can see here it looks like Saprolegnia, brought on in fish that are already weakened for some reason or other. As previously stated this cory has lost its barbels but if you say you got it like this it could be your LFS keeping it on a sharp substrate cutting them and possibly causing infection. Your water parameters don't seem to be the cause here but maybe the nitrate could be a bit lower. If it is Saprolegnia it can be easily treated with Melafix Blue.

Hope this works for you

i had pebbles in there and thats what i think he lost his parbel on.... i shortly changed to sand substrate after.... thats what i meant

So the white in front is sand too?

its really just that spot on near the tail (near the black spot) thats the only area i can deffs see right now

Do you already have Nitrates coming from the tap? The reason why I'm asking is if there isn't any Nitrate in your tap water you may need to do a little more WC than what you're doing. Sometimes Nitrates can build up over time and cause old tank syndrome. The build up can happen from fish waste, uneaten food and decaying plant matter. These wastes can raise the risk of bacterial infections in your tank.

The fuzzy spot/slimey spot on your fish could be either fungus or bacterial. You will need to determine which it is and decide on either an antifungal or antibiotic medication. Bacterial infections are very common, and I would try an antibiotic first, especially with his tail fin seeming to have fin rot as well.

thank you i am going to my LFS so i will try the antibiotic first :)
