One of my boys, Orion, is sick. He's a male betta splendens. He's been a sickly fish ever since I have had him but he has suddenly taken a turn for the worst. Treating with Interpet Anti-Internal Bacteria and Myzaxin. It's a last resort - I am terrified that he might die tonight. I know people who have had good results by combining them so I'm giving it a go. Better try than not, eh?
Tank size: 60 litres (he has 20 litre section)
pH: 7.5
ammonia: 0
nitrite: 0
nitrate: 0-5
kH: unknown
gH: unknown
tank temp: 27 celcius
Fish Symptoms (include full description including lesion, color, location, fish behavior):
Inactive, hides away, rarely moves unless for air or food. Loss of colour, fins very delicate (almost disintergrating in places) and clamped, and scales lifted. No swelling and no signs of classic fin-rot (no redness, blackness, fungus, etc). Breathing heavily.
Volume and Frequency of water changes:
At the moment - once every 1.5 to 2 weeks. Normally, once a week. 25-50% depending on when it was last done. Tank tested weekly and I always change the water before the nitrates get above 10. Well planted. I know I should do more regualar water changes but I'm just trying to get back to normality after exams and I am really, really busy.
Chemical Additives or Media in your tank:
De-chlorinator and water conditioner. Nothing else.
Tank inhabitants:
Divided tank with three male bettas.
Recent additions to your tank (living or decoration):
Some live plants over a week ago, but he's been looking peaky for longer than that.
Exposure to chemicals:
Unknown. Shared house and everyone knows not to use aerosols and such near the tanks. I am careful but I can't vouch for the housemates.

but on the other hand my betta is very bloated, i cannot say for sure if yours has dropsy but a picture would help alot, erm id say if you can to move him to his own tank and do the treatment unless the others start to get it aswell, however he may have anouther problem so its best to wait untill someone with more know how then me comes along (wilder im sure will help) good luck!
