I really want a porcupine puffer and fortunely, a local person is selling one and he says it has never nipped at a coral before.

Is it possible that some fish that are generally considered not reef safe fish be reef safe? Or is it just a matter of time where they actually do nip at your corals?

Thanks

each fish is an individual, like people. one fish may one may not. But one day they can suddenly just start eating corals. porkies ca get decently big too. usually fish are classed as reef safe or not with good reason

Any thing is possible in this game, there is no hard or fast rule.

The only rules for Porkies are:

Will eat all your cuc
Need at least a five foot tank
Messy eaters so need good filtration

I love the guys and one day I too will have one :good:

Seffie x

ps PM andywg - he has kept one for a long time and knows all about the lovable fish

thanks for the replies guys, still not quite sure if i want to risk putting the porcupine puffer into my reef though. If it does eat my coral, catching it is going to be hell :X.
