Ok... well waterstats are
amonia: 0
ph: 7.6
Nitrates: 20
nitrites: 0
50% water changes weekly in a 29G tall tank. (us gallons) so I know my water is good. I thouroughly vaccum my gravel when I do water changes.
2 dwarf gouramis
2 angels
1 platy
1 swordtail
2 rasboras
1 black neon (thinks he's a rasobora)
2 dojos
all fish are juvenile and small so I know eventually I will be overstocked when things begin growing. Some of them will be rehomed to larger tanks.
anyway.... there were 3 gouramis a few days ago one died and I couldn't figure out why. I did not notice protruding eyes but did notice that the underside was beginning to turn dark which was odd. Today I noticed that one of the 2 remaining gouramis was turning dark on his underside and then noticed one eye was way popped out. I immediately put him in a 10G with Maracyn-TC (tetracycline). I took partial media from one of my other filters in the filter in the 10G tank. Added a heater. He's the only fish in the 10G so I'm assuming he isn't going to produce tons of waste so the filter should be ok.
Back to the point:
How soon do you think I should see an improvement? When I first put him in the 10G he was not doing so well. I think the shock of being put in another tank freaked him out because he started flipping sideways even though the water was the same temp, same ph, etc. He seems to have recovered from that and is now swimming right side up. Is there a possibility of him making it through this?
