Popeye

My danio's eye is very swollen and I bought a mediction for popeye that didn't work. I tested my water and ammonia and nitrite and everything was 0. Then I noticed that his stomach was very swollen and just the other night I noticed that my usually very active danio was moving sluggishly at the surface. Plus the eye started turning black and his stomach is still very swollen. Please help and tell me if this is something more serios and how to treat it and what could have caused it!

What med did you use?

Popeye can dropsy are closely related due to the build up of fluids.
Are scales sticking out?
is the iris of the eye black. As when eyes turn black it can be a symtom of fish tb.
I would issolate the sick fish.

I used the med. Maracyn which I put in the tank once every day for five days, as instructed. The eye didn't turn black and the scales are not sticking out.

Hows the fish now.

Well the fish died. The popeye went away, but his stomach was still very very bloated so i put him in a hospital tank and he died a few days after. Guess I'll never know what caused it.
