kenni (my betta) has popeye. Other thread here.
Today, it is much worse. His eye is bright red/pink all around, and it is more swollen than before.
I'm going to try the amoxicillin, but is there anything else I can do?
Nothing seems to help and it's just getting worse!
Also, how much amoxicillin? As it says in the other thread, he's in a 1/2 gallon (no, it's not his tank, it's just until he gets better). I don't want to overdose.

I've tried bettafix and aquarium salt. I've tried keeping his water super clean, putting him beside my bed since he loves attention and I thought itd cheer him up. I even put a snail in there to clean up any un-eaten food.

That helped a lot!
He's not showing any other symptoms. It used to be just slightly popped out, and it started getting bigger and bigger, now it's all red and it looks really gross. It also huge!!
The other eye doesn't seem affected although I think it may be a little popped out. But I'm not sure since I don't think I know what his eyes are supposed to look like after looking at that one for so long!
So, Im gonna open the capsule of Amoxicillin and sprinkle the tiniest pinch in the tank. Tomorrow I'll be doing a water change since I need to do one anyways... and I guess I'll try that and see if it works.
Could it be an injury that just got worse?
He did have plastic plants in his tank that were a little sharp... I've removed all decor from the hospital tank though and he seems to be eating fine, swimmng fine, and acting fine.
He did have a tumor, but it is recessing, and it's not behind the eye so I don't think it's because of a tumor.

It is possible for fish to injure their eyes sometimes on things. However i'm not sure how much a plant could really damage an eye. I would think something more on the sharper side such as a corner of a rock, and he got scared and would swim into it, would be worse.

Is there anyway you could get a picture up?

Anyways as long as you are treating with a bacterial medication. That should be helping to make it go away. If it does not there may be something else behind the problem.

It looks better today. It's not as red and not as swollen... so I'll keep treating with that and see how it goes :)
