I agree with Synirr, #1 is a slightly misleading question. My kneejerk response was, "no bettas are good betta tankmates!"
I also tend to think of #9 as being a weirder question, since I tend to think of "new tank syndrome" as having less to do with clarity of water, and more to do with "my fish are sick and I don't know why!" -- in other words, when a FISH is acting distressed, listless, dying, etc, and it is the very beginning of a fish cycle, I personally figured That to be 'new tank syndrome'... 'cloudy water'.. I always just figured to be, you know 'cloudy water', which could be caused by nearly anything (even something as awful as soap on a previously trusted Turkey Baster/Cleaning Supply >< )
*edit: although, the bacteria question? Nooo Idea, I only knew them as 'nitrifying' or 'good' bacteria. Bad me.
