I have a previous thread but no one seems to want to reply to that any more. :p
Anyway, as you might no my male suffered with fin rot, he was treated with myxazin and is now recovering brilliantly. he also suffered with pop eye, he has had 2 courses of myxazin and his pop eye and cloudy eye is still there.

I have been previously asked if I have tried salt baths. I personally have never done these before so will need some help. Do I just use Aquarium salt or do I need some other kind? Do I try him on another 5 day course of myxazin? I don't want to cause him any harm through all the meds.

Thanks again people

If it's a bad case then do another dose of the myxazin.

Salt baths it's one teaspoon (I think) of epsom salt per galon of water (I think) - Not much help sorry.

Epsom salt is definte though; I had to get it over the counter from the chemists :)

Put him in for no more than 30mins twice a day.

Aquarium salt would not be approoriate for popeye ( or bloating issues). Would make it worse. You need epsom salt ( found easily and cheaply t any pharmacy or other place they sell over the counter meds). Mix at 1 tablespoon per 5 gal if treating in the tank or at 1 teaspoon per gal if using as a dip for up to 30 mins up to 2 times a day. Epsom helps draw fluid OUT of tissues, aquarium salt would have the opposite effect which is why it is not the right choice in this case.
hope it get sorted soon for you.
cheers

It is easier to get the right mix if using dips. If you treat the tank you have to take water cahnges/ evaporation into account when you add more salt( to keep the right mix ratio). Best bet- 1 liter container and 1 teaspoon epsom. Use tankwater to mix and dissolve salt before adding the fish. Do your waterchanges while he's in the bath.
besst of luck.
cheers!

I would go for the epsom salt dips for now and see how Thai gets on. Not sure if ok to carry on the myxazin treatments at the same time. I'm sure that someone will be able to advise you on that. How long is it since he's finished his second course of treatment? I really hope you get a noticeable improvement soon xxx

He had his first salt bath last night, unfortunately had to miss this mornings as I was running late :/ but he will be getting another tonight.
How long does he need these for??
I no they will be helping him but I feel im stressing him out more moving him too and from his tank
