Yeah I believe it's pop-eye. What's the size of the tank? One of my fish recently had pop-eye I did a 50% water change and then another 50 the next week, and put some melafix in the tank to try and help. He's all better now.

I did the same thing when one of my bettas had pop eye. It depends on the cause but clean water and melafix worked for me

My first question for you is what is your nitrite reading? The ammonia reading alone does not give us a clear picture of the water quality. If you do not have a test kit, take a water sample with you to the LPS or LFS, both will check it for free.

Is the fish being bullied at all? Do you have a hospital tank you can isolate him in? Because only one eye is affected and cloudy, i think it is bacterial (would be more wide spread with parasites). Since you are in the united states, take advantage of the meds available. Melafix has never been very affective, Personally, I would treat with Maracyn or Eythromycin. Adding some salt to the tank can also help.

Popeye Article

Take a look at the article above. It has some great information that may help you and your fish. You may also want to consider doing water changes at least once a week.

Popeye is often due to bad water quality and is a bacterial problem often. More water changes and treatment with bacterial medications will help.

I agree with your post. One of my severums had a bacterial infection which looked very much like pop-eye but it only affected one eye. Tried melafix but that didn't help.
