My coral beauty appears to have pop-eye although it's only in one eye. I though pop-eye had to be in both eyes?
Perhaps it's due to some physical injury?
Any ideas and what should i do?
He's in a 16 tank atm (I know i know....) Upgrading soon
27 degrees, sg 1.024
True perc and firefish as tank buds

Unless you can confirm injury, popeye is a bacterial infection and is treated with antibiotics and quarantine. SH

If it were me I'd move the fish to a hospital tank ASAP. Even if it is injury, it could easily be followed by bacterial infection in it's weakend state, and other fish could pick up on the injury.

I'm not sure what meds you have accsess to but I would treat with a full spectrum of antibiotics, then leave in QT for 6 weeks to watch for other signs of infection.

During the treatment period you will need lots of water to keep up with the daily 50% WC's that will be needed. Remeber when your taking water out, you will need to replace the same percentage of meds as water taken out.

Good Luck.

I'll get him in QT tommorow when i can pick up the medicine as well. He looks better today but it's better to be safe than sorry.
I hope he makes it he's a beautiful fish :(
Do you have a name for this medicine or should i ask the LFS?
Dan

Well, the antibiotics will come in a variety of different brand names. Tell your LFS that he has pop eye and that you'll be treating him in a quarantine tank and wish to use both gram positive and gram negative antibiotics
