Poorly Wozzy!

Hi.... My Albino tiger Oscar (Wozzy) is normally the happiest Oscar i've ever seen, playing around with his tank mates (Raphael Cats) & munching out on his prawns etc as he doesn't like normal Oscar food. He even comes to the side of the tank and looks like he's mimicing your every move.
Over the last couple of days he's seemed really down (literally) sitting at the bottom of the tank just staring at me and being somewhat motionless. He's not eating or playing at all & his eyes are looking a little more swollen than usual. I've put some melafix in with him and some general tonic but nothing seems to be cheering him up. I've done all the relevant water tests and also a 25% wc. Results are as follows PH - 7.5 Amonia - normal Nitrite & Nitrate normal.
I'm totally baffled! Any suggestions or is he just having that time of the month fishy style?!

Also i thought i might add he keeps doing this puffy thing with his face & opening his mouth really wide lake he's choking but not if you get what i mean!

Is there a female oscar with him by any chance? Sounds like hes flaring. My jack dempseys do that when they are ready to breed.

He's alone with the raphaels! Can't see him wanting to mate with them! lol

has anything at all changed? decoration? It often doesn't take much to throw them off. What you're describing sounds an awful lot like typical Oscar 'pouting'.

U might be right.... had a problem with an exploding heater last week! Had to replace it but i put it the oposite end of the tank and had to move his filter! Duh i'm soooo thick! Should have thought of that before i posted this topic! OOOOPS
