Hi, I noticed one of my Tiger Barbs was not itself before I went to work this morning.
He has one large white circular patch on the side of his body, the patch covers approximately 25% of his side. It doesnt appear to have any fluffiness to it. He is also having problems swimming and staying upright.

I cant give you any water stats as im still at work but the tank is 360ltrs and is well filtered, it had a 40% water change 3 days ago and is well cleaned weekly. All the other fish in the tank appear normal.

Any ideas please as I would like to try and pick up some medicine on my way home from work.

Thanks

Just to update now Im back from work I have tested the water.

Ammonia 0ppm
Nitrite 0ppm
Nitrate 40ppm

I have had chance to have another look at him and he is much paler in colour than my other Barbs.

Still need help please

Hi, if you could post a picture it may help id the problem.

From my limited knowledge it could be an injury or some sort of fungus. Do you have a quarantine tank? As 360l is a lot to treat.

Bleaching beneath the skin can be columnaris.
Any whitness that goes along the back to form a saddle shape on the fish.

Any signs of flicking and rubbing, scraping on objects in the tank, excess slime or mucas, laboured breathing, darting, erratic swimming.
