Hi there just rescued a giant plakat from an older lady who didnt have time to do water changes - he's in a bit of a bad way - he's only 3 months old but is already bigger than my other male plakat

He's been in pretty crap water for 4 weeks ,no filter , no heater and he has a white bit on his side and was just sitting on the floor looks like he has scales missing from the patch

He is now up and swimming and eating - after 4 days in tank with mature filter and heater to 27 degrees
His name is Brutus :)

poor little guy!

good job you rescued him. it might be worth treating him just to make sure.

Dont want to treat him if it's only a graze - blooming fish lol - be easy if i could just put some cream on it

Anyone recommend treatment if so with what or just leave him and let him heal ?

btw he was in a 2 litre goldfish bowl   now in 30 lites of a 60 litre tank - temp home

I would add a bacterial med to the tank.
Soak his food in garlic juice to boost his immune sytem.
Is he flicking and rubbing.

Bless him his eyes look so sad.

will do hun thanks
He was being fed goldfish flakes - now on hikari betta gold and had some live bloodworms today
first he flared at them and swam away then came and got them off the tweezers - bless - i just hope i can turn it around for him

There's no flicking or rubbing - and is pooping well - nice normal colour poops after feed - giving him a bit of pea to try later today get him used to it for his once a week pea treat lol

BTW doing 10 litre water change every 3 days and he loves them

Hope he gets well bless him.
Good Luck.
Keep us all updated on his progress.
