I got three DP's from Amwell's on Sunday.....tank is fully cycled....all three ate on the first night and water stats are good.
Got home last night [from my Dad's funeral ] to find one of the three looking severly skinny and would not take any food even when isolated [in case he was being bullied].
The other two are fat, swimming and happy.....any suggestions....I have no meds in the house and am beginning to think it may be better to end his suffering.....no movement unless touched......any ideas gratefully recieved.....

He's held on over night, would it be worth trying garlic?

Severely skinny can be old age, fish tb, internal parasites, fish isn't eating.

is the belly sunken it.
What does it look like when the fish goes to the toilet.
is the anus enlarged or red and inflamed.
Is the spine bending.

is it possible to load a pic up of the sick fish.

most probably internal parisites due to them being a wild caught fish, not sure what to suggest though, maybe wormer plus, but if t already has parisites it maybe too late

Hi, I've been in touch with Jennybugs and she thinks it could also be ip! The little guy is still holding on and Jenny is sending me some wormer.....so fingers crossed for him.

Oh No! The poor sweetie, hope he pulls through, garlic / live bloodworm may be worth a try to at least tempt him unless he really is just too poorly.

I tried the bloodworm in garlic tonight......but he didn't want to know  .....still hanging in there though....lets hope the wormer gets here in time.....and works!!!!!!

The garlic is supposed to weaken and even kill parasites. The fish love the taste of it also.

Thanks for that....never knew what the garlic actually did, just knew it helped! Unfortunatley even wiggling a worm in front of him with tweezers doesn't tempt him  .....to be honest I don't expect him to survive....doesn't stop me from trying though :look:

This poor little guy didn't make it through the night....even though I sat up 'til 3am with him again  R.I.P little Puffer :rip:

Bless Him.
R.I.P.

If you suspect internal parasites you will still need to medicate the whole tank.
If you have inverts you will need to remove them before you add the med.

Hi Wilder, I'll medicate the tank when the wormer arrives from Jennybugs.......that said, the other two are looking better by the day.....fat and begging for food.....lol. Just so gutted about my little man
Thanks for your help.
